This is our response to the recent NAR settlement
New MLS Rule on Offers of Compensation
A new rule taking effect in mid-July 2024 prohibits offers of compensation from being displayed on the MLS.
Buyers and sellers may still pursue cooperative compensation, but it must be negotiated off-MLS through direct consultation with real estate professionals.
Buyer broker compensation remains fully negotiable and may include:
- Payment directly from the buyer
- A seller concession
- A portion of the listing broker’s compensation
While the MLS will no longer display compensation offers, choice, transparency, and negotiation remain unchanged.
